Mini 10 is much better than Mini 9. Windows 7 is fast.

We have a Mini 9 running XP and a Mini 10 running Windows 7. The Mini 10 is much more useable. First of all, the keyboard is significantly larger than the one on the Mini 9. You can actually type on it without having to constantly look to see where your fingers are. Secondly, the screen resolution of the Mini 10 (1366 X 768) is much better than the Mini 9 (1024 X 600). The Mini 10 allows you to view whole web pages without having to scroll horizontally. This is something that really bugs me on the Mini 9. I hate having to scroll horizontally to see an entire web page. Also, the Mini 10 screen resolution is perfect for viewing widescreen movies. Also, for those reviewers that are saying that Windows 7 runs slow on the Mini 10, they are wrong. Windows 7 runs just fine. Just like any other new computer, the manufacture installs lots of unnecessary software that needs to be uninstalled. If you really want to maximize the speediness of Windows 7 on the Mini 10, all you have to do is uninstall the junkware that Dell puts on it. By junkware, I mean McAfee, Dell Dock, Dell DataSafe, Syncables Desktop, and Dell Support Center. All those things running in the background are unnecessary. I got rid of all of theme and installed Microsoft Security Essentials for my anti-virus and this system is very quick and responsive. By the way, Dell put of that same junkware on our Mini 9 running Windows XP. My wife prefers the Mini 10 to our regular laptop and she likes it better than our desktop computer. It is very handy to keep around the living room, and also excellent for travel. It is small enough to fit in her purse, but large enough to do real work. We have Office 2010 installed and it works great. In summary, the Mini 10 is a great, portable netbook, with enough horsepower to do real work and to entertain. They keyboard size and screen resolution make it much better than the Mini 9. Windows 7 runs great on it.
