A tough fit for purpose drill
Just pushed a 20 mm hole through a concrete sleeper without so much as a hick-up.
Drill handled it with ease using aftermarket 6 Ah battery and 5 mm pilot hole..
Longegivity still before the jury noting that I expect to get 5-years service from the drill in handy man duty.
I bought the Makita because of chuck failures and finally torque grip failure on my existing AEG battery drill. The Makita chuck held the 20 mm massonary drill firmly and it never slipped at all.

Aftermarket Makita equivelant battery
The battery is certainly cheap enough and fitted OK to both the genuine Makita drill and the charger.
Have only drilled one large 20 mm hole through a concrete sleeper and battery did it without faltering.
Have since done a number of light duty jobs all as expected without a hitch.
Its still early days but first impressions are good.
Dunno why the genuine battery is so ridiculously expensive???
Suggest you give it a try.

Useless and dangerous
The CD would not properly load and sent the computer into fault and seized the operating system.
The only way to reset the computer was to remove the power supply and battery then re-start in safe mode. I had grave concerns that the software had given my computer a virus or had done something to the operating system. By the way, I'm using Toshiba Satellite laptop with Intel I3 core (1-YO), Windows 7 Pro (64 bit) and MS office 2003 so I am certain that computer is fit for service.
