Very well designed equipment
Perfect for teaching beginners, very well made board and wooden pieces, and the small box containing the pieces becomes the two piece stands (a design I wish was more common). Best latch I've seen on any game board which stores the pieces
The one drawback, the pieces themselves are very square in order to show the 3x3 grid of possible moves. This makes them rather jarring to play with if you have any shogi experience. For more experienced players, I bring out the shogi.cz pieces which have the more familiar shape.

Solid mid-range wooden shogi set.
This is a basic mid-range wooden shogi set. Decent cloth-backed folding wooden board, printed wooden pieces with a glossy finish (Ryouko style with black ink on both sides), and a wide, shallow piece box designed for use as the piece table for each player, like the Kumon beginner's set.
Well packaged, it would make a suitable gift for a youngster showing promise at shogi, and a step up from the low-end Nintendo plastic or wooden pieces and hinged folding board. Serious players would likely prefer a better board, carved pieces, and nicer piece tables.
