Corgi Mustang

It's an older model now when Corgi were still experimenting with finishes. The model is bare metal which is polished, which looks fantastic. The down side is it tends to tarnish over time. Paint is a much more durable finish. That said this model did clean up quite well. It was marked as "used" by the seller and had clearly been on display as it was a bit grubby. And tge display stand was held together with blutac! Considering is age (it was new in 2001) it's still a reasonably accurate replica of the real aircraft. Although the real aircraft carries quite a sad back story. For the collector it's a limited edition so it carries a collectable value. However the later version of the subject is painted, so I guess the bare metal finish was a bit of a blind alley for Corgi.
