Useless for steaks!
I live at 500 ft above sea level so water boils at 211 degrees F. I tested the thermometer and it displayed a temperature of 217 degrees F. I wrote to the seller twice inquiring if there was a way to calibrate the thermometer and received only received basic instructions on how to turn it on. Since it is so far off it makes it useless for gauging how steaks are cooked. So NO I do NOT recommend this product. It is NO good as far as cooking steaks is concerned!

Nice looking but not very functional
Too small to fit a head of garlic through the top. Cute but not practical,
