Too dim and short life
They fit well, but for some sockets, they will short the socket, as the leads wrap around the base instead of just being on one side. For some sockets, this will be OK, but for mine, I had to clip the leads shorter so they only went down one side. After that they worked, but in a week or two of use, they got significantly dimmer. Possibly this is because I am running them in an AC circuit (landscape lighting). Maybe they work better in DC circuits or in automotive use where they aren't on for 12 hours straight.

Just be careful with supply!
The kit was very easy to make and worked first time. The supply voltage seems to be very critical (3.7 - 4.2 volt) so I used a variable, regulated supply. Don't do this! Transients created by this kit can go back into the supply and blow semiconductors! Makes a great arc, and can ignite paper, etc. Awesome little kit. Just be careful what you power it with.
