A Sound of Thunder
As an afficado of sci fi, I bought this not having seen it. The science portion was believable and the special effects were very good. Future creatures and possible evolutionary divergence were believable as well. I particularly liked the ending, which I won't give away, but was too cool. It did tend to drag in the beginning, but picked up and kept the pace about 1/3 of the way through. I recommend it for an evening or afternoon relaxer.

Beauty & the Beast: tv serial
3 of 3 found this helpful I fell in love with this series when it first appeared in 1987, and followed it to its conclusion in 1990. This series boxed set allows me to revisit this fantasy land of New York, above and below ground, watching the characters develop and mature. It's like a night time soap opera at its best! Watching the entire series, one episode after another helps put continuity to the characters, but also became fairly repetitive. For its time, this was a wonderful adult fairy tale come possible. It was a good beginning for Linda Hamilto's and Ron Perlman's careers, as well. Over all I throughly enjoy the escape, story, and characters, the good versus evil, that each story line presents. It is a wonderful journey back into what television series used to be about. Revisiting Vincent, Catherine, and Father has been a delight.

Soulcalibur II (GameCube)
As a neophyte and somewhat older 'gamer', the draw that had me purchase this game was the Link character, as my favorite all time game is Legend of Zelda. Initially it was difficult to figure out how to play & exactly what the various modes offered were for or did. But after a few hours, I did get most of it figured out, more by trial & error than anything that was instructive. Some of the moves in the learning/practice mode, were a bit confusing and/or difficult. The characters are really neat, though, and I enjoy changing characters occasionally. However, after a few rounds w/ some of the characters, their 'moves' are very predictable, making them easier to beat. The graphics are good and sound effects good as well, but the dialogue gets stale really fast. I enjoy playing this game especially when I need to 'win' and unwind. It is not my favorite game, but has been worth the price I paid for it. Though I would rate LOZ and FireFox higher, this is still a fun game.
