Clear picture but lacks power

I bought this in an attempt to extend the useful life of my Nexus 5 when its microphone failed. Although it plugs into a TV easily enough, and produces a nice clear display, I have found that if I try to use the charger as well, the phone does not stay charged. On the mains supply the phone slowly discharges whilst displaying a charge symbol, whereas when using a power bank, the phone doesn't charge at all and no charge symbol is shown. Bearing in mind that the battery was successfully replaced only a few months ago with a brand new one, this suggests that the cable is causing a large power drop. Even if I turn the screen brightness down to its lowest setting, the phone still discharges. This is a little disappointing and if it wasn't for this problem it would be perfect.

Good way to extend watch life

A little expensive but (presumably) better for the environment than buying a totally new watch. Slightly fiddly to fit but YouTube videos exist to show you how.
