Lamson Litespeed
This is not my first Lamson reel and I have always been impressed with their products and as I have never had any problem I can only comment on their quality, not their warranty.
The Litespeed is light but not at the expense of strength, it is ideally suited for 8wt line and saltwater use. The drag knob is large and care needs to be taken until you get used to it as it does not require much movement from free to maximum. The drag is strong and smooth and although it has only been used on estuary fish to date I have no doubt it could handle pelagics although the backing is limited to 100 mtrs when using Rio's Outbound short.
As for value, I bought mine from the USA on ebay and saved a 'motza".
Looking forward to years of use.

Best indicator I have used
I have used a number of strike indicators during my fly fishing career and found most of them wanting to some degree. They slid up and down the leader, fell off after a short while, were fragile, too large, not visible or had some other problem that was annoying.
I first saw this indicator when fishing in NZ and the professional guide used it and recommended it.
It is more expensive than most other indicators but after the initial purchase of the tool, buying the expendable tubing and wool is cheap. The guide even used raw wool that he picked off gorse bushes.
The tool lasts a lifetime and the wool is available in a number of hi-viz colours. It is certainly the best value in the long run and avoids all the problems I found with other indicator systems. I'm not alone in my praise for this product, a number of members in my fishing club have also bought it and will now use no other indicator.

Good value and high quality
I purchased this rod as a last minute desperation measure to get a 4 pce 6wt for a trip to NZ after missing out on a big name rod on Ebay. I wasn't sure the rod would arrive in time for the trip but the service was incredibly fast.
The rod looks good and has nice touches like aligning marks for assembly. The NZ guide was impressed by the rod's casting ability (his casting is far, far better than mine) and I had no problem casting in very difficult windy conditions. The rod handled trout up to 8+ lbs and I had every confidence in its performance.
I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this rod and look forward to using it for a long time.
