    Awesome Deal - Awesome Amp
This is a professional all tube Fender Amplifier that was made in the USA. All models since early 2002-2003 up to today are all made in Mexico. USA made Fender amps are more collectible, but are exactly identical in design and build with the only exception being the Volume control on the Clean channel has a different taper. (Also - the newer Deville III models have a Celestion G12P Speaker) It is very loud, 60 watts and has three channels, clean, crunch/overdrive. The crunch can get dirty and the overdrive stacks all three preamp channels for a very dirty tube distortion. Treble, Bass, Mids, Gain, Master Volume, Reverb, Presence control with two inputs. (#1 is normal, #2 is padded -6db if you need a little more clean headroom) I have four of these amps and use them gigging live over 150-250 shows every year for the last 13 years. They are affordable and provide that bluesy bell-chiming Fender sound. They take just about any pedal very well and react to volume changes on guitar controls very well. These amps are not metal music amps unless you use a pedal with them, but can get very close using the amp alone. I also have two HR Deluxe amps (40 watts 1x12") As with all tube amps you must maintain them to a certain degree, but minimal is required, and only needing to bias the power tubes when changing them, or switching to a different rating tube. Most times you can just replace the power tubes with the same rating tube without needing to bias or "adjust" the voltage settings, which is is usually done by a qualified professional or avid enthusiast for around $30.00. The amp usually comes with a two-button foot switch and a nylon cover. I put this amp next to a Fender Twin (100 watts) and the four 10" speakers seemed to have more punch and moved more air for a tighter ballsier sound than just the two 12" speakers in the Twin, and felt that spending the extra money for the Twin was not justified, although the Twin has some distinct advantages such as separate tone control for each channel and a dedicated Loop circuit with adjustable volume control. The Loop circuit on the Hot Rod DeVille basically does the same thing without the volume control. You can add extension speakers for a wall of sound as well as piggyback amps using the Line Output to a second amp's Power Amp Input. The speaker & amp's ohm rating will go down to 4 ohms allowing for two 8-ohm speaker cabs to be used at one time. Sometimes I hook up my 4x12" Marshall Cab in addition for a total of eight speakers moving a lot of air. These are professional all-tube amplifiers that are affordable, loud and road sturdy. Very sensitive and dynamic. If you can play in a big venue, the best way to use this amp is to turn up the Clean channel to about 8 or so, and then use the volume control on the guitar for cleaning it up and letting it loose - the natural overdrive of the tubes sound ten times better than any pedal tries to replicate or saturate...but be warned, these amps get very loud very quick and are not suited for bedroom practice, really small gigs, most churches, but do very well in loud rock, bigger stages and blues. These amps work well with either Gibson Humbucker type pickups or Fender Stratocasters and Telecasters. Gibsons have that full rock tone and Fender guitars have that spongy single coil sound and twang. Brand new in 2011 they sell for $900 from most retailers.

Highly Underrated Affordable Pedal - Awesome When Used Correctly.
Highly Underrated! Many people think this is a low-grade Boss effect pedal, but with proper settings and usage, it stands up to the quality and fidelity you have come to expect from Boss "Built like a Tank" pedals. The reason many people give this pedal low marks is because the Tone Knob is crazy! Similar to the Fender Reverb Tanks, this knob goes from just about right to way out of control in a hurry! - lol. Set fully left/counter-clockwise (7 o'clock), it is dark and muddy, around 8 o'clock it will sound good for a Strat lead tone, around 9 o'clock and a little beyond is good for fat Gibson humbuckers to cut through any mix, and anything beyond that is way too thin, harsh and God knows what you would use it for outside of a specialized high freq-type notch filter effect or laying heavy on a low string. This is what people don't like about this pedal...the Tone control is too wide - lol. Find the right spot and you are there tone-wise. This is Distortion, not Overdrive and it is made to provide searing lead tones and carefully voiced rock chords. It holds a strong distortion without going into feedback as easily as other pedals. There is even a video on YouTube that shows one coupled up with a Boss OD-3 Overdrive...I do it too. It's nice to have one set for crunchy rock and the other set for searing leads and sustain...but I am also guilty of engaging both of them at the same time! As with just about any distortion pedal out there, the higher the gain, the more the noise, but all in all, this pedal holds the noise level down while keeping a strong tone that if need be, any noise gate could easily manage...I don't use one. The Level control can act as a lead boost if you cut back on the Drive. You really can't get rid of the distortion effect, but you can minimize it to a point that it will behave like a boost with a little grit behind it and most times this works just fine, especially live. As of July 2012 the average price for the Boss DS-1, used, in good condition is nineteen to thirty dollars. The higher being free shipping and original factory box. The other factor are the older models made in Japan go for a significantly higher price (sixty to one hundred dollars) to people who collect vintage gear or have discriminating tastes. With the abundance and affordability of these pedals I say, "Why not have it in your arsenal?" If you set your unity gain and tone to be "seamless", it is worth twenty bucks to have it there & ready to kick in when you need to hold a high note (or any note) extra long without worry...and if nasty is your thing, this pedal can get really nasty set to anything past 11 o'clock. (Which is only 1/3rd of the way "up".) This pedal also doubles as a great little gift for a budding rock star. It is cheap and it provides good distortion, which is what they are most likely looking for, until they get good enough to deserve a two hundred & fifty dollar pedal. I, myself have many expensive pedals, play professionally (26 years) through a large rig and have this pedal at home in my "Boss Chain." Be conservative and use micro adjustments and you will find a great usable pedal at a terrific price.
