ArmorSuit 2 Pack MilitaryShield Screen Protector for Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus
    29 January 2020
One of the better screen protectors of this type
Got this screen protector to replace the Spigen which I wanted to take off as soon as I put it on. Installation was typical for this kind of protector with the spray bottle and squegee...spray the underside of the protector AND your fingertips, slide it on the screen, line up the cutouts, etc. Unlike the Spigen, the cutouts are more precise especially on the left side of the screen where the Spigen was not. No problem with the UAG Monarch case as there is enough clearance on the edges. The most important difference is that once it's installed and allowed to adhere to the screen the ArmourSuit protector is smooth to the touch so that your glides on it. The Spigen was like rubber in that you had to drag your finger across the screen... extremely irritating. This one is very nice to use. It doesn't get dirty that easily but can be cleaned up easily with a microfiber cloth. The Spigen was the opposite... it got dirty easily and a microfiber cloth would almost stick to it making it nearly impossible to get it clean. I couldn't wait to get the Spigen off which surprised me because they are usually highly-rated. I'm not going to give this one the torture test to see how well it protects the screen but in just the usual day to day use it's doing what I expect it to do as far as protecting the screen from scratches. I would recommend this product over others I have tried... the installation is no different than other products of this kind but the cutouts are more precise and line up perfectly, no interference with a case and your finger glides across it because it is smooth to the touch which also makes it easy to clean.

    Kenwood KDC-448u - a head unit w/features worth considering
The Kenwood KDC-448u is definitely a head unit to consider if you are considering moving up from a basic unit or just wanting a head unit with more features. I purchased the KDC-448u because I got an incredibly good deal on this one ... half the regular selling price from online dealers. This replaced a Kenwood KDC-148 unit because I wanted more features, particularly USB. Installation was quick since I already had a Kenwood; wire the connector to the factory adapter (the KDC-448u has an extra wire for dimmer function) and install it in the sleeve already in the dash. I am not an audiophile and don't pretend to be one and can't afford to spend the money required to build a system that an audiophile would be satisfied with. I just want what I would consider to be a good sounding system. That said, I would definitely buy the 448u again. It is a very nice unit and I would recommend it to anyone wanting more features than a basic unit. I really like the "sleek" look of the unit; all black and no preset buttons, no flashy chrome pieces either but that's a matter of personal preference. It has front USB and acc inputs as well as a built-in IPod feature. The USB input works great,it will read an 8GB drive in a few seconds. I don't have anything to try the acc jack nor do I have an IPod so unfortunately, I can't rate how those features work. It has 3 pre-amp outputs which are 2.5 volts, so if you are wanting to build an audiophile system this will probably not be your choice. The 448u has a three band EQ which is sufficient and provides enough adjustments to the sound as well as preset EQ curves. The tuner works well, but I've actually only used it twice because there is a either a cd or USB drive in it. The cd player works very well, I haven't found a brand that it doesn't like yet, unlike a Pioneer that was in another car that was really picky about cd's. It has a multitude of display options as well as variable color. One can chose two-line or three-line display;clock and date;spectrum analyzer to mention a few.The variable color is great; the buttons on the left can be one color, the USB and acc jack can be another color and the display can be another, or they can all be the same. You can choose from the colors provided or adjust them to suit your personal taste. The variable color scan which switches between the available colors while music or tuner is playing is my favorite. Then you if activate the music sync it will change colors and flash in sync with the music.I'm sure some people would find this annoying and distracting but it doesn't bother me and does give you something to look at when you're stuck in traffic. While the display options and colors have nothing to do with how well the unit produces sound, they do contribute to the overall enjoyment. As far as "dislikes" go (and I would really hesitate to call them "dislikes" because I don't dislike the unit because of them),the menus take some practice and patience to navigate. You better have your "Instruction Manual" handy because the little user manual doesn't provide all the info you need to get through the menus to make adjustments. Mine didn't have the Instruction Manual so I had to download it.Some people may not like the "joystick" control knob,I wasn't too sure I was going to like it but after using it for a while I like it now.The display will get hard to read during the daylight but almost every unit I've seen has this problem. I would definitely recommend unit!!!
