What a delightful surprise.
3 of 3 found this helpful A great find. Kennedy shows editorial skills that her mother apparently had as well. A compilation of interesting literary, historical, even obscure articles, sketches and poems that really pull together into a picture of Christmas that is not anywhere as frou-frou as its subject may imply. The glimpse into Kennedy's own family from this perspective is a bonus, not by any means the primary appeal. The beauty of a compilation is that someone else pulls together things we might not ever find, and classics we may not have on hand, and hopes to present something appealing in total - she accomplishes that, in my view. I'm hoping to get more bargains on this book on e-bay to share as gifts.
