(It's just like) Starting over!
I bought this boxed set the night my son was born. It was the very first cds I had ever purchased. I gave that set to my son, this is an incredible career retrospective of the best Of John Lennon's solo career, and was one of the first of the boxed sets ever marketed. Wonderful packaging, artful graphic design, includes a beautiful booklet with family photos never before published. Complete lyrics, photos of the singles artwork, as well as the album covers of'Live Peace in Toronto'(1969),'John Lennon and the Plastic Ono Band'(1970),'Imagine'(1971), 'Some Time in New York City'(1972), 'Mind Games'(1973), 'Walls and Bridges'(1974){Album cover is a painting John did at 11}, 'Double Fantasy'(1980), and 'Milk and Honey'(1984), which consisted of the previously unreleased remainder of the'Double Fantasy' sessions. The last two cuts of the set are "Nobody Told Me", Lennon obviously having a blast with wonderfully funny lyrics, and the tragically prophetic "Borrowed Time", seemingly showing a man who was finally happy to be in his own skin. Many photos of Sean, his youngest son, whom he took a five year break from recording to be with, including the back cover of disc four, showing John and Sean watching swimmers at a beach; John wearing jeans, flip-flops, and a straw hat and Sean standing next to him, clasping his hands behind his back. The final picture(the back cover of the booklet), is a soft focus photo of John, Yoko, and Sean, a picture that could be from anyone's family photo album, just three people enjoying life together. Today would have been John's 68th birthday. What an absolute shame he isn't still with us.Sean was born on his father's bithday and is 33 today. Mark Grear

Live at the Rathskeller!!
This is a exceptional collection of Tom Petty's lifework, even containing some "Mudcrutch",one of his first real bands. LOTS of live material, very nice photos. Petty was based out of Gainesville, Florida at one point, (Go Gators!!), the Rathskeller was a campus bar, many great bands played there, including Petty. This set is for the true fan, greatest performances, including many hits, but really unusual stuff here, showcasing one of the most talented musical groups to ever come out of Florida, and their continuing growth and constant evolution as superlative entertainers. Six disc set, huge booklet, almost all the cover art, other extras, one of the nicest boxed sets to be produced to date from anyone. Not a weak track here, incredible selection, you could play nothing but this set at a party and EVERYONE would be happy!! If you have only listened to his greatest hits album, you simply haven't heard what a great band can really do, these are MUSICIANS, they can (and have) played with anyone, on any stage in the world, and always bring the house down. If you are going to drive cross country, take this set with you, it's all you'll need. Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers were inducted into the Rock-n-Roll Hall of Fame in 2002, this boxed set shows you why they were. Not many bands can say that two early members became "Eagles"; that Petty and Lynyrd Skynyrd occasionally played on the same bill is something to marvel at, lots of great groups from North Central Florida: 38 Special, Molly Hatchett, Blackfoot, even Fred Durst and Limp Bizkit, I'd bet ALL of them own some Tom Petty records!!(and so should YOU!). Blue Lava Brushed Pewter Table Lamp
06 February 2017
BEWARE stock photos of these lava lamps!
Lava Lamp had so many complaints about these lamps that they discontinued them. The 15 watt bulb takes at least 8-10 hours to properly warm the lamps up initially. After several cycles, the lamp will perform well, with a nice flow in less than a hour. MANY of these lamps have a cloudy solution, even when new. The low heat bulbs haven't got a chance of clearing the solution, no matter how many cycles you put it through. Available in blue, green, red, or violet, they make a nice table lamp for a crowded space. You'll need a shorter bulb for the top portion of the lamp, regular bulbs stick out beyond the shade. The four way switch allows you to use just the lava lamp, just the top lamp, or to have both lamps on or off. It's a well made lamp that, properly cared for, should give great service for many years. If you buy one that doesn't have actual photos of the lamp showing the globe, you're a fool.
