Great series!! Great music & some very poignant episodes, as well..!!
Great series! They played actual real songs during the shows, & not that stupid "elevator music" that most other shows use! Some very poignant episodes, as well..!! Enjoyed seeing it again after all these years!!

A SUPERB and extremely captivating series..!!
Incredible show!!
"I loved that show, for a number of reasons: (1), when there's a dance scene, the producers played REAL music, not that stupid "Lawrence Welk, elevator crap" that a lot of people appear to dance to in similar shows..!! (2), with a few exceptions, the vast majority of the shows are "stand-alone" scripts - I e., you don't need to have seen the previous episode in order to see & understand what's going on in the show you're currently watching. (3) the guns! Sometimes I "kinda" look at the guns they used as "co-stars" in the series. Everything from AK's, M-16's, MAC-10's & MAC-11's, Uzi's, Skorpions (from Czechoslovakia); even Stinger missiles & laws rockets..!! Cool stuff, not even taking into account the various machine pistols & various handguns incl. Crocket's "later in the series" switch from the S&W 686 9mm to the Bren-10 10mm semi-automatic pistol. Very cool stuff!! Even Galco Gunleather later on introduced it's "Miami Classic" shoulder holster (I've got two, both well-worn..!!) because of the popularity of Sonny Crocket's on-show rig..!!
All said, there were SOOOOOOO many great things about that show (even the off-beat, "base" humor) that it's hard to know where to begin..!! Sure, there were a few shows in which the overall plot was quite "predictable"; most of them, however, kept you on the edge of your seat. Also, too, was the "human" side depicted during many of the shows - for example, when Calderon's daughter and Rico Tubbs fell in love, and she died right in front of him in a car bomb that was rigged in such a way that there was no way to disarm it, and the grief he felt in the aftermath.
Great stuff . Too bad it only went 5 seasons, in my opinion..!! Of all the "law enforcement- oriented" series produced for TV, with perhaps the exception of "NYPD Blue" & the original "Law & Order" series that went for 20 years (1990 to 2010), Miami Vice will forever top my list of exceptional shows..!! It was that good..!!
