A "Quinn"tessential Entry in the Batman Universe
This movie manages to merge "Gotham's" brand of grittiness and violence with the type of goofiness made famous in the original 1960s show in a way that faithfully and harmonically encompasses the entire genre of live action Batman, without actually including Batman, and without feeling contrived and formulaic like the notorious film "Batman and Robin." Margot Robbie leads a colorful cast of characters and, once again, knocks it out of the park.
It's very engaging and entertaining. The plot is well developed and the characters have depth and breadth, giving you a real sense of who they are and what motivates them. Not sure what movie the critics were watching when they panned this one, but it couldn't have been this one. Or perhaps they just aren't ready this type of (traditionally male dominated) movie with all female leads? That's far more likely, actually, considering how lopsided they were in favor of the similarly executed "The Joker" over this film.
And 4K is the best way to watch a movie outside the theater, so highly recommend.
