HELJAN 3419 Class 33/0 D6540 in BR green with small yellow ends - OO Gauge

Classy Class 33

A superb recreation of these excellent, useful locomotives. The livery, badging and lettering are finely reproduced and the level of separately fitted details is impressive Straight from the box this well weighted loco's running was smooth and steady and after running in was even better. Slow speed control is first rate and is great for shunting with. I use Kadee couplings and found that the buffer beam detail only needed the screw coupling to be hooked up to allow operation thus preserving the appearance.

Upgrade

As I mainly text and call I have for years used a Nokia 6300. However, I identified a need for e (or M) ticketing for train travel. Not wishing to spend much, after research I deemed an iphone 4 would do the job. It is the right size to fit in a shirt pocket but not so small as to be fiddly to operate. The battery life is good after reading up on what to turn off. The ticket apps were easily found and loaded and there are still plenty of accessories available. All in all for my purposes I am very pleased with my choice.
