Rear hatch drain kit
Instructions tell you to drill perpendicular straight down through the body work. If you do not drill at somewhat of an angle the brass grommet that collects the water will not lay flat against the body. To do this need longer drill bit. Mine kept popping up in the back after initial install had to redo to keep unit flush with body otherwise you would have leaks. Experimented with one side until correct before doing other side of car. Google this kit you will see there are many people on both sides whether to use or not. Been a sticking point with c4's why wasn't the car designed better so water did not collect and pool here. This is one of the solutions, only attempt if you think you can engineer through it. I ended up taking my interior trim out as to see where I was drilling through. Very hesitant about drilling through body of Corvette. You need to drill through 3 layers of fiberglass or plastic whatever you would like to call it. In the picture you can see how the body work goes down towards the center of the car this is why it collects water in this area and also why you cannot drill perpendicular straight through the body otherwise the grommet will not lay flat against the angle of the sill.
