Penguins in Ice
If you've seen the ads for the "Polar Ice Ball 2.0" where they freeze things like small flowers, toy bugs and little penguins inside clear spheres of ice, these are the exact penguins used in their promotional video. It's the larger size penguin used in the samples.
If you should decide to give these a try in ice cubes or spheres, you'll find they sink and usually lie on their backs. I wanted them to stand upright. I drilled them out from the bottom to just inside the top of their heads. I was very surprised to find the body section, of the large penguins, was hollow and yet they do not float. I inserted a small weight just inside the base, resealed the hole with superglue and repainted the area black. Now they stand upright when dropped in water every time. I haven't used the smaller penguins for placing in ice, yet, but they would probably freeze nicely into standard sized ice cubes.
If freezing them in ice isn't in your plans, no problem, these penguins are just downright cute.

Replacing my old Ginsu steak knives
I bought these to replace the steak knives in my original Ginsu set which, after nearly 20 years, are no longer sharp enough and are not taking a new edge well. My first issue with these new knives is very minor; the different handle shape. This I will get used to. The other issue is the cutting. The original Ginsu knives were very good for 'slicing' with good clean cuts. I bought a different brand of knives and the blades on those tended to 'saw' through the meat leaving small bits of meat on the plate. These new Ginsu Essential knives are somewhere in-between; slice with a slight saw-feeling, but with far fewer bits torn out from the cut. Even so, they are working better than my 20 year old steak knives.

Skyscraper in 3D; test your fear of heights while comfortably sitting in your own chair.
It's a very good movie even though a bit too predictable. Good 3D effects without the cliche "in your face" trash, mostly playing on the acrophobia fear factor. The 3D wasn't really necessary to convey the drama of the heights.
Either Dwayne Johnson's acting is improving or he's better suited for serious roles rather than those inane 'pec-popping' roles of prior movies. The child actors did a good job, neither stealing or ruining their scenes.
