Eternal USB soundcard
It does not support 4.1 Or 2.1
Stereo or 5.1, 6.1, or 7.1
USB drivers are flakey and device fails to initialise (although this is common across ALL devices like this). Gets hot.
As an alternative to onboard basic audio, it is a leap up. But if you have onboard surround sound, why would you want one of these?

If you are building your own server, using FreeNAS, then this is a must.
I have a 64gb 10x CF card shoved into this, and it is FAST.
In under 20 seconds it is up and running.
