I don't understand.
1 of 2 found this helpful How was this game ever called a Halo killer? It's... it's absurd. Even taking into account the year, it looks horrendous. The controls are spotty, the story is sub-par at best, I... I hate this game.
I feel like I am severely missing something very basic about this. It confuses me to no end. I don't know, this is mainly to get this out of my system but... ... just... why?
I don't understand why so many people like this game.

We'll Never Fight Alone
The game has a unique art style and presentation that I enjoy. It's part of what I enjoyed about the previous game in this series, Riviera: The Promised Land.
What this game lacks, though, is what I enjoyed most about Riviera and that is the character development. The characters are barely explored and the dialogue feels hollow and wooden. It's still a fairly fun game, though. It just could have been much better.

Lionhead studios does not know how to make a good game
They really don't. I am almost convinced that they throw gameplay and story elements at a board and have extraordinary luck. Because they have a lot of solid gameplay and story design, but they just drop the ball so hard sometimes. So very hard. Like the narrative jump of 10 years which does absolutely nothing to further the story and could have easily been 1 year or even 6 months and gotten the message across just as well. How is your dog even running around at that point, he's got to be well over 20. Have you ever seen a 20 year old dog?
Anyway, my main gripe of the game is the ending. There is no final boss fight. It is massively anti-climactic, even worse than the original Fable. The game was enjoyable though. Right up until the end, it was fun to play, if mind-numbingly dumb at points. I would reccomend it, but only if you can get it for cheap. Any more than $15 at most and you're not getting your money's worth.
