Third / Sister Lovers

Big Star`s Third, but not really.

I was very disappointed with the music on this Big Star Third release (Sister Lovers). After two fantastic record albums by Big Star in the early 1970s, this third one was quite different....very dark, mellow, sad and lacked the brilliant power pop of their first two albums. It was very much demo like with unproduced, unmixed sounding results. I guess Alex Chilton fought to not have this released and I can see the reason why. Many Big Star fans think this is a great lost treasure but in my honest opinion, I disagree since I was so spoiled by their first two albums.
