the race goes on

be aware there is a race here: Canon keeps slightly changing the ink cartridges to the knock-offs won't fit, and the knock-off makers try to keep up. This new design does work in the new Canon printers whereas the previous 251 cartridges, which worked in the previous Canon generation, do not work in the current. One must keep buying the newest knock-offs in order for them to work in the newest ink-jets. The result is that your supply of old ink jet cartridges will outlast your old printer, and you probably wont be able to use the old knock-offs in your next printer.

great tool, poor battery life

I don't know if the battery life is poor because it's a used battery, or because of its power requirements.
