Good solution for hearing impaired
Works great in the same room with person. Someone with moderate to severe hearing loss may have trouble hearing it above a loud tv in a room next to the ringer. I may wire the ringer and locate into the tv room which doesnt have an outlet for telephone. It is dramatically better than a telephone ringer. A previous review by another said it did not work with VOIT (telephone through cable tv/internet). It absolutely does work with VOIT. I would give it a 5 rating if it was another 20 or so decibles. If you had outlets and located one in each room it could be rated 10 out of 5. It will startle you standing near it.
