The Last but Not the Least
THis book maybe the last one in the trilogy about the civil war by Jeff and Michael Shaara but certainly it does not leave you wanting. The lives of those who lived through such an aweful time in history come to life in a new way. You sense their struggles their highlights and the overwelming sense of duty to family and country. A very beautiful portrayal of American History. TO bad it wont be a movie like its counter parts but I will still enjoy it and hope to visit the battle fields one day and stand in awe of what was accomplished and the lives lost for a cause they both believed in. thank you Jeff for a wonderful read.

True to the Book
As was stated before - this movie is based on the book by Jeff Sharra. The only complaint I had with it when I first saw the movie was the lack of antietum and then I went back and read the book only find that the book only casually mentiones antietum. So for a movie that sticks to the book I was impressed all around. I watched the movie with the book at my side. I skip parts but over all it mirrored the Book (by the same title) very well. I loved the acting and of course the use of reanacters to play the parts of the foot soldiers. A real good movie to watch on a rainy day when you have nothing to do. It just keeps going and going. MUSIC is awesome. Very intense and moving. To me apart from the acting the music is half the film or more.

Awesome read
I really like how you are drawn into the characters. Yes their thoughts and words maynot be exact but it is very true to the period and how their struggles may have been. I enjoy Civil War history and this book and the others in the Trilogy make it come that more alive.
