There goes the rumble
The good:
These JVC headphones are effective at eliminating low frequency rumble generated in moving vehicles and more. In a 2002 Buick century at 75 MPH they take away the flutter of engine noise, road rumble, and turbulence. In a hotel room they remove HVAC noise. These are refurbished JVC phones, but I can't imagine better performance in factory firsts.
The bad:
If you are stepping through frequencies searching for radio stations, each little radio "beep" results in a percussive "thud" from the right earphone speaker. This happens whether sound elimination is powered up or not.
Overall:
Once you are tuned into your radio station you get clear sound with much reduced background noise. I can't wait to take an overseas flight with these phones. For once, I will be able to hear the in-flight movie sound without cranking up the volume.

A Great bicycle tool
1 of 1 found this helpful This tool has all the fold-out bits that one needs on the road to take care of wheel truing, derailleur, and brake adjustments along with other incidental repairs that do not involve larger fasteners. When retruing a wheel I found the 3.5 sided spoke wrench to be capable of turning stuck nipples where a traditional wrench just rounded off the flats. The tool is nicely laid out with nifty features. The two halves of the tool are clipped together with a so-so latch, but that does not detract from how cool the Alien II is.

Armed with this manual a mechanically inclined person inexperienced in sewing machine maintenance can do almost anything a sewing machine repair shop can do.
