Digitech Trio
The Digitech Trio Band Creator Loopers are very useful tools for solo practicing or for practicing with your bandmates if you don't have a drummer and/or bass player. The Digitech Trio is a combination looper, drum machine, and then some. You play into it as any other looper but the output is a drum and bass interpretation of your input. You can adjust the volumes of the drum and bass outputs independently and you can select from 12 different rhythm genres ranging from blues to hip hop to jazz. Each genre has an additional 12 different rhythm combinations. It is intended for electric guitars but I hook it up to the mono output of my keyboard and it works perfectly. I manage an online music school, irocku, for Chuck Leavell of the Rolling Stones and we now recommend this to all of our students. Digitech sells a less expensive version which provides most of the same features but doesn't allow you to store your band loops so you'll need to recreate them every time which is fine as a practice tool. You simply play your progression once and the Digitech Trio takes it from there.
