Alpha Centauri
Alpha Centauri is Sid Meirer's masterpiece. It is the must have turn based strategy game. It might be the last PC game you'll need to own. The differing factions are wholly unique. You'll want to play and master the game with each faction and each method of dominance. The military units are creatively new along with their weaponry. In addition military units are customizable - you may prototype and develop your own units comprised of various weaponry to meet your individual needs. The concept of barbarians has been replaced with the native lifeforms which can also be mastered to augment your military. Civilization II is revolutionary, Call to Power is wonderfully fun, Alpha Centauri is superb.

Farm boy's review of John Deere PC game
Game control is quite shoddy. Necessary to zoom out as far as possible to get the job done. They should have added more shortcut keys. Game play is even confusing, like with building fences or harvesting/selling crops. Inability to make own characters was disappointing. Game concept good; game play poor. Not worth more than $5.00.
