Lionel Remote Switches for hte win!
When it comes to model trains, no name is more known than Lionel. The remote switches are a bit more costly than the manual switches, but they are well worth the cost later on. Sure, kids love to move around, and local control of switches can be good, but you can use the remote switches like you are the railroad dispatch, running the whole layout from one location.
