Expendables replica toothpick
Just arrived today. The sheath is genuine leather, which means that it is two layers of split leather bonded together. Covers the blade, but wont protect you in a fall - it is very soft although well constructed.
Guard, handle and spacers are all loose on the tang. It is usable as is. I will be removing the handle, soldering the guarding place, then epoxying the handle materials to the hilt.
Blade is blunt, although that is a good thing considering the sheath is so soft. The point is needle sharp.
Blade catcher seems to be nicely done and the overall finish is very nice.
This is a big knife and for the price point it's a lot of value. Once I have refitted the guard and handle it will be very nice.
I cannot comment upon the edge retention or ease of sharpening at this point as I have not had time to test these things.
It will definitely need a robust leather sheath to protect the user from it whilst carrying.
I expect that it will make a great sticker for hunting purposes, anything else remains to be seen.
