Amazing Great Processor
Pros: I have it at 4.2 MHZ, EVGA X58 Motherboard, with G.SKILL Trident 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 2000 (PC3 16000), takes some tweaking in the bios, and of course aftermarket cooling like Zalman 120mm and a case with lots of perforations and great airflow and fans, with all that said, runs 35C idle and no more than 62 for a few sec under full load. Great stability,
Its listed as a quad core, but its really 8 cores, wish it had 12 like the i980x. Save your money and buy this, more than $300 for a processor is not worth it economically nor will the notice in speed be noteworthy unless you plan on overclocking the 980x or 970x to 6.o mhz or above, but you will need water cooling and kill your electric bill. I bought it because i7 is the new trend and my wolfdale e8400 core 2 duo seems pretty old, 2 years old.
