New Geneva Bible - Quick Review

This Bible was named "The New Geneva Study Bible" named after the 'Reformation' Movement started by John Calvin, Martin Luther and other reformers of the 15th-16th centuries. The original Geneva Bible was published in 1560 and had commentary notes in side columns. This copies the name-sake, and follows Protestant theology. The New Geneva Bible was published by Thomas Nelson Publishers in 1995, and the general editor is well-known and respected Theologian R.C. Sproul (1939-2017). It has a single-column format, and side-column reference style. Some editions also have red-letter, meaning that the words of Jesus are in red. Reading font is approx 12-13pt. The content has the same as in the subsequently named "Reformation Study Bible" also published by Thomas Nelson in 2005. Notes are very good and comprehensive. Insight to many verses are spelled out in layman's terms. Also included are theological notes (approx. 100) in the form of articles throughout. These are very helpful in understanding main themes listed in the Bible.

Jack Van Impe Prophecy Bible 3rd Limited Special Edition

The Jack Van Impe Prophecy Bible (3rd Edition) is worth getting if you are a serious reader of God's Wordand invested in Bible prophecy. The words of Jesus are in Red, (Red-Letter edition). Included are Dr. Van Impe's books "Revelation Revealed" and "Daniel Revealed"; both a verse-by-verse commentary of their respective titles. These were two books written by the late Dr. Van Impe and explain in detail these two end-time prophetical books. There are over 10 thousand verses that are shaded and categorized for certain time-frames. (See Picture #3). I also appreciate the larger size font which is good for readers who read a lot, taking unnecessary eye strain away. The Bible itself is 6-1/2 inches wide and 9-1/2 inches long and weighs 2 lbs / 6-1/8 oz. This bible is reasonably sized for travel, and substantial enough for the study. The third edition is made from burgundy bonded leather (sturdy yet pliable) with gold-medium-matt gilding and gold lettering on the front and spine. Overall this is a very nice bible, and has one (1) burgundy bible marker / ribbon. I would rate this a 7.7 out of 10. A good investment for your biblical library.
