BETTER SPEAKER FOR YOUR GOOGLE HOME MUSIC
1 of 1 found this helpful I have a few Google Home speakers and although they are fine for communicating (eg, whats the weather like today?) they arent so good with music.
I replaced on of the Google speakers with the JBL 20 which came with Google Voice Activation built in.
It was a breeze to set up and started working immediately.
the sound quality is way better than the Google speaker and it has the added advantage of a "speak" button on top that you can press rather than having to preface every command with "hey google".
The unit also happily links to my son's iphone for playing his music.
What I really like about the unit though is the fact that it has a built-in battery that recharges directly from the power supply.. so it is a truly portable unit (whereas my Google speaker dies the moment you unplug it from the powerpoint).
Its got great bass sound which is further enhanced by placing it on a hard surface (my kitchen stone bench).

Intelligent charger for my 18650 batteries
Having purchased torches that use 18650 batteries I decided to go green and use rechargables.
As the 18650s are a larger battery that AA, I needed to get a charging device to suit.
The Nitecore i4 accommodates up to 4 batteries and automatically detects the right charge needed.
It has LED indicators to signal that its charging and to show status of charge completion.
It comes with a detachable power cord so you could use it with a power cord from different countries (it works on 100 - 240v).
Batteries are easy to insert and remove and the whole unit is only 12 cm x 9 cm.
It cant hang from the powerpoint like many AA battery chargers do.

cheap but it shows
OK, so I wanted an outdoor fan on my roofdeck for those evenings when a breeze is just whats needed.
This machine is fairly sturdy and does the job but its not very elegant. Its also quite noisy..the cage rattles (yep, I did tighten everything when assembling it!) . to be fair the noise is created by the air pushed through!
It was easy to assemble once you realise that the strange hockey stick shaped tool is the bolt that holds eh base onto the pedestal.. The fan sits on a pedestal with a heavy weighted base.
There are 3 speeds controlled on the back of the fan cage. the power cord hangs off the back of the fan cage rather than threaded through to the base which is a bit inconvenient and unsightly.
Personally, I'd recommend shelling out a bit more $$ and buying something more substantial but it is OK for the price!
