Newer model has shorter battery life, less bright
I bought this to replace a cygolite 450 that I had for years, but lost when it fell off my bike on a long ride :-( In comparison, the 650 casts a wider beam, which is helpful for illuminating the road immediately in front of you. I prefer, however, the 450, which had a very bright and easily visible, focused beam for daytime use. The 650 is difficult to see during the day, regardless of which mode is selected. Worse, the battery life is extremely poor. After about an hour of use it needs to be recharged. The price of the light is not bad, however I will keep looking for a more useful light
