Doc Martin: The Complete Series [New DVD] Boxed Set, Subtitled
24 December 2023
Brit TV at its best.
Great tv show, if you like British TV then you’ll love Doc Martin. DVDs start with the 2 movies. Then the series. Doc Martin’s personality is different in the tv show and I like the tv series better than the movies. Dramatic comedy at its best.
Walt Longmire Mystery: The Walt Longmire Mystery Set, Vols. 1-9 by Craig Johnson
26 March 2019
Not like the tv series
I’ve read only the first book so far “cold dish” and I was disappointed. The books are different from the TV series. Most of the characters are unrecognizable as some names have been changed and their personalities and physical description are different. The storyline of the first book is a jumbled up mishmash of several tv episodes. Walt’s interaction with other character is confusing and Walt doesn’t quite come off as a nice person but a sloppy, over weight grouch. Walt’s daughter Cady is a shadowy figure way off in Philadelphia and his relationship with his dead wife isn’t as on tv. And so far there is no conflict with the Rez or the casino which is a theme throughout the entire tv series. To put it simply I liked the TV series a whole lot more than the 1st book. I’m going to continue reading the books, partially to see how much is changed from the tv series and because I love to read and have run out of other reading material. These books would be better if I hadn’t watched the tv series. Most of the time I prefer the book over the movie or tv series but in this case I prefer the tv series.
