A WONDERUL DAY BOOK
0 of 1 found this helpful I have relied since finding my sobriety in Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) on a couple of day books used for daily reading and contemplation about living in the idiom of recovery accomplished using the AA program.
In my years of sobriety I have learned AA had a distinct format with which to deal with all of life. I have wondered over the years, why this? Why this more than so many of the religions with which I am acquainted that say the same thing.
Although the message is very much the same, I just became a better listener when I tuned into the message on my AA transmitter.
I have found the same to be true of Buddhism. I do so much better in life, working my AA program recognizing it in the context of The Way known as Buddhism. Tuning in my Buddhist transmitter allows me to hear so much more than I did before I discovered it.
This book is a wonderful daily tuner for that transmitter. Like my AA Day Books, the daily reading of the Dalai Lama's day book keeps me tuned into Buddhism as a means of living day to day.

AN ENDEARING ANALYSIS THAT IS A FORMULA FOR LIFE
2 of 3 found this helpful I found this work, one of many of the Dalai Lama that I have read, a wonderful primer on what Buddhism is and is not. It is not a religion. It is a way of life that supports the spiritual endeavor we each individually deal with in this life. It is simple, engaging in style and more than full in content. I have read it a number of times and gave it to my wife to introduce her to the basics of what I have been studying.
The Dalai Lama is an endearing teacher.
