Download the latest driver - CD may be unreliable with its TWAIN driver
Not good instructions and this is a manufacturer thing though. Once I downloaded the latest driver, and yes you need to restart computer after driver is installed it finally worked for me. Prior to that it was hit or miss if it would have an error or not and mostly had errors. New driver resolved all my issues
