A Big Disappointment
With all the hype surrounding DJ BBQ I found this book rather disappointing but if you like Chris Evans and his sense of hyper activity you may find it to your liking. Personally I found it rather lightweight and very juvenile in style and content and without being too unkind would respectfully suggest the DJ stick to his daytime, or night time job, where his talents would be better utilised.

Unbelievable Value Samsung Smart TV
we already have a 46" samsung 3D smart tv for the lounge and have been mighty impressed with it.. apart from the fact that we tried the 3D function but once and thought what the heck ! .. it is a great set with both a freesat and a freeview tuner so my wife and i having recently moved decided that we would like a smart tv for the bedroom
and our starting point was of course samsung .. we wanted a smaller set maybe in the range 32-42" and so started searching when i stumbled open this listing from the tesco outlet store .. now 46" was rather larger than we needed but at £269 delivered i thought whats the catch ?
... and the answer is well there isn't one ! .. the simple fact is it is and was an absolute steal !!
it is supposed to be factory refurbished and the wording of the listing said there may be some 'cosmetic' issues but the tv was sound and tested.. that said it came in the correct samsung box which whilst clearly it had been opened was still was in good condition
the polystyrene screen protectors were intact as was the manual and handset .. the protective film for the screen was gone but there was literally no mark on the set and as with all the latest smart tv's the set did its thing on start up and connected immediately to our network and then began updating its software
there was an accompanying A4 note from tesco that interestingly said there is an on/off button which be easily missed .. and sure enough there is .. it is located on the right hand side bottom edge of the screen casing and can easily be missed !
so i am thinking quite a few of these sets have been returned on the basis that they don't work .. the purchaser not realising that there was a power button on the set which i would probably have missed had it not been pointed out !
so what about the tv itself well it is no frills a budget smart tv .. it is rather thicker than our other set which truly is a flat screen front and back.. there is no second tuner to accept freesat.. the picture is not quite as sharp and on the 'dynamic' setting is still rather soft compared to our other set .. it only has 2 hdmi sockets but it does have a usb port.. and the sound quality is more than adequate
and it is a samsung which means in my book that it is still a quality item !
the 'ducks feet' as i call them on which the tv stands are singularly ugly and have been ditched them in favour of a universal vesa fit type pedestal stand that i found here on eBay and which pivots 15' either way .. a very nice feature
the set has forced us into to reorganising the bedroom to accommodate the tv but the end result was well worth it !!
all in all a 5 star buy !!

Great quality and value for money !
i recently bought a 46"samsung smart tv on ebay thru the tesco outlet .. it was a first class bargain but i had one issue with it .. rather than a central pedestal type stand it had two what i would call 'ducks feet' perched at either end of the bottom of the tv.. which going back to the 'ducks feet' had i fitted them would have necessitated an oversized tv table to perch it on .. plus to be fair it looked pretty ugly !
so i thought maybe i can get myself my own pedestal stand with a vesa type back plate and after a few minutes and with a little searching on eBay i found this gem.. it is solidly made from epoxy coated steel easy to put together .. and a doddle to hang the tv on plus a really lovely heavy duty toughened black glass base which gives not only some 'heft' to it but some class also
it looks very good and as a bonus the tv can be swivelled through 15' on either side to effect the best possible viewing angle.. and it should be mentioned that the stand is supplied with a complete set of quality fixings that should enable most brands and sizes of tv to be successfully mounted
all in all i rate this as one of my best ebay buys ! .. and i would mention that it came exceedingly quickly from up north to down here in southern cornwall.. i ordered it after the tv and it arrived a day before the tv itself via yodel
in short i can highly recommend !
