blown away, built like a tank.
I'm blown away that I can run all this audio information so easily over an ethernet cable through an AVB switch. Build quality: its built like a tank. Designed to be used, a lot. And, I will use it a lot. I got it primarily to get past the 1st 16 dedicate4d Mic ONLY channel inputs on the PreSonus StudioLive 32 track digital board. I will never understand WHY they didn't make all 32 channels combo inputs with line and mic signals. Boggles the mind.
But this piece of gear gets around it. It does not ADD channels, rather it acts as a stage box, ad enables you to be a distance away from the cable inputs- and not have to run tons of cables all over the place and snakes everywhere.

Good feal
For the money, a not bad mic, and a warm sounding predictable preamp. I got two, so 2 preamps and they each came bundled with an at2020 mic.
The AT2020 feels solid, it has no frills, and sounds like an AT. If you know how to use it, it can sound really good. I will be using it on Drum toms, and some brighter sounds I want to tone down a little. It is fairly flat, and is not hyped in the upper range, which is great for Sax, electric guitar, bass, or drums. Sounds ok on vocals, if you know how to place it, and sing into it properly.
It comes with a very basic Mike clip. It's not one of those fancy no-vibration thingamajigs. The clip feels solid. It came packaged in a foam cut-out that is reusable. I rather like this, because then I can store it carefully. Also included are some nice black zippered pouches that are typical for audio technica.
The Bluetube is a wonderful preamp for the money. Well built, solid, love the vu meters, and the lit buttons.
I only wish that I could fit these both into one rack space. I was hoping each would take up 1/2 rack space, but they take up a little more, which is frankly very irritating. I mean, who designs that? Design much? So, that really is my only gripe. It's a minor one, but it's good to know if you plan on putting this into a rack. Truthfully, I haven't done my research on this, so there may be an adaptive way of doing this from Presonus (I still have hope).
The tube part is separate and can be turned off, it has a nice warm quality that's a bit dirty. I specially like that they gave me a power cord with an off button. Since this is 'class A', it's always on. I don't mind the little button, but I would just put it into its own power strip and then turn the power strip on and off.
I did have a pair of these blue tube preamp's from the first generation. They had LED signal indicators, which were very easy to see in the dark and from a distance. The VU meters are not so easy to see from a distance, but they are a nice touch. I'm seriously considering getting two more of these bundle-deals!
