Evolution Chop Saw Multi-Purpose 14 in. Cutting Blade Cuts Steel Aluminum Wood
    24 November 2018
    Saw is junk.
This is an overall terrible product. I have been using this for the past month extensively to cut square 2x2 304 stainless, 11 gauge tubing for a hobby welding project. The blade that comes with it burned out in 3-5 cuts. OK...not a carbide blade for stainless steel, wups, my bad, so then...I bought the evolution carbide 90 tooth blade, specifically for 304. Lasted 15 cuts. The cuts come out typically warped. The vice that is there to hold the tubing always moves. 45 Degree isn't 45. And it's impossible to make a 45 cut without desperately vicing the vice, because it moves as you tighten the clamp. The spring is loose on the saw manifold, there is lots of give, and cuts warp more often then not. It in general feels cheaply put together and not solid. Many others have said this is a hobby saw. What kind of hobbyist doesn't care if the cuts are straight, or if 45 is 45, or 90 is 90? The saw is basically a worthless paperweight. I can't use it for anything. I need precision cuts, which is the whole point of using a cold cut metal chop saw vs just angle grinding it off or using an abrasive chop saw. After spending 200 on this and 100 on the new stainless blade, I decided to just bite the bullet and order an industrial-use 600 dollar cold cut saw of another make. I wish I watched some more reviews on this saw before buying. Complete waste of money. This saw doesn't work, other then the blade does in fact spin around. This isn't even a case of you get what you pay for.
