A gorgeous story and enjoyable for tots and young readers!
During our most recent trip to the library I borrowed this book for my 3yo son and we both instantly loved it! I believe books are an absolute treasure for children so anytime we love what we borrow from the library I usually go hunting on ebay for our own copy! This book is simple enough to understand when reading to the non-reading child, however it is also excellent for those beginning to read (like my little one). The pictures are so descriptive they make the storyline very easy to comprehend, and of course it has a heart-warming ending :) A very gorgeous, innocent book.

Lovely little book, visually explains the seasons in a fun way.
I was after a book to help my 3yo to understand clearly what seasons are and what makes each season unique...this clever little book really does that, and of course the spinning wheel for each season is a novelty (being a board book helps it survive being handled roughly!). However, it is very basic with little words and mainly pictures to describe each season, for example "Summer sun ... sticky fun" is the entire written explanation for summer, so obviously when reading this to your little one you would use the pictures to elaborate and explain. Without the benefit of looking inside this book beforehand perhaps I might have concluded it was aimed at slightly younger children, however my 3yo still loves this book and seems to get the idea of what seasons are about. Overall a very cute book and beautifully illustrated.. I also loved that the last page has a double spread with all the months in the year and a picture of the season for each quarter.. however as this book was printed in the USA (and I am in Australia) I will need to adjust the months so they cover the correct season.. not too difficult with a few labels.. :)

Adorable, 'magical' book
A delightful, 'magical' book... I didn't realise that this book would feature pictures that transform into colour as you slide them out so I was absolutely DELIGHTED, not to mention my kids just LOVE it!
