An American story of unmatched courage and sacrifice for the nation.
Memorial to the men of the 100th Battalion/442nd Regimental Combat team. The book contains a listing and photos of those KIA, historical backgrounds of battles, and short memoirs of survivors. The sacrifices and courage of these Japanese American troops and their officers should not be forgotten. Their actions promoted the assimilation of Nikkei into the fabric of this country and (with the aid of Texas, the home-state of the Lost Battalion they rescued) led directly to statehood for Hawaii. It is a remarkable story we should all learn and treasure.
The seller, bookstore Malasada's Books in Mililani, Hawaii did a wonderful job in ensuring the book arrived in prime condition. The price was a little high but the store asked just a third of what other sellers were asking; and really, it was a small price to pay for such a valuable historical account. Mahalo, Malasada.
