Stanley Tools Combination 'Metal' Square
1 of 1 found this helpful I ordered a Stanley Combination Square from UK through eBay because the shops in my region only sells the even cheaper (simpler) all-plastic version of the Stanley Combination Square (I must say, though, the straightedge part (ruler) are made of steel in both these versions).
What I am concerned about is the sliding part that can be locked in any suitable position along the steel ruler. This locking mechanism consists of a bolt (also made in steel) and a nut.
It is this locking nut that is the problem! If your lucky it will last a couple of days, but sooner or later this locking nut ( made of plastic ) will start slipping the threads when you need to lock the Stanley Combination 'Metal' Square in a new, suitable position.
