"Riptide" an underrated series
2 of 2 found this helpful It's nice to see they finally have released this 1984 t.v. series which has Perry King & Joe Penny (along with Thom Bray) running a detective agency from their boat in a Los Angeles area marina. I've always felt this series was never given its due--it was popular but never a critics favorite. The guys have good chemistry with one another & playing off their good-nature banter. Each episode provides another excuse for them to battle the bad guys, ride in their helicopter, race in boats & impress the girls. Its complete t.v. escapism at its best. The series holds up well--& both leads were at their peak of "hunkdom" in their shorts & tight jeans. I think it was way better than "A Team" and "Blue Thunder" which were aired around the same time. Glad to get the opportunity to purchase the first season & hope they release the next 2 seasons soon.

Tropical Heat Fun
This series played on t.v. under the title "Sweating Bullets" in early 90's. Like "Acapulco HEAT", "Air America" it was adventure/suspense series with Rob Stewart playing detective on some tropical isle with his office aide Carolyn Dunn helping out. It was harmless fun, lots of action & nice locale. Rob has a breezy, laid-back vibe that suited his quasi-beach-bum attire & always got the perp in the end.
