Fabulous machine!
3 of 3 found this helpful This is my first computerized sewing machine, and it's easy as pie to get used to. It's an embroidery machine as well as doing all else manner of stitching. I bought it for the versatile stitches, not so much for embroidery, but the future is wide open and who knows? I may get into it as time goes on. I'm a studio quilter and I also make garments and tote bags, etc. The machine has a walking foot which is super for me, as the sewing I do seams (ha!) to be all over the place, up and down. There's a needle threader built in which for these aging eyes is a godsend. I'm now looking for a table for it - one that rises up for flat work, making a large flat work surface that flush with the machine working area. Soon come.

Couldn't be happier with the transaction and the machine!
5 of 5 found this helpful I've been sewing for 45 years; it's a passion. This is the first Bernina I've owned, and exactly the one I wanted. It's an older model, sturdy and powerful for a domestic machine. Otherwise I sew on a Juki industrial which I also love, but for sewing at home in the dining room this machine is rockin'. It slows to a crawl when I need it to, which means it's very sensitive to my needs. I've been making jackets out of lightweight Indian quilts, using a serger for the edges in a very very condensed stitch which finishes the edges perfectly. For this I am using a recently acquired Bernina serger. Yes, I turned 60 and now have these two FABU older Berninas, and now I understand why all the fuss about Berninas! The serger I bought from Craigsllist. I think I'm set for life. Happy sewing! - Jakida
