Airfix 1:72 De Havilland Heron Mk.II

OK kit but requires delicate painting

This kit is makes up into an attractive and interesting model but requires quite skillful painting particularly on the cockpit canopy. It also requires painting before the body side windows are put in and the fuselage is put together. It also needs filling and sanding to avoid noticeable gaps along the joints. Painting and assembling therefore is a long and fiddly process. This kit would be better if some parts came pre-painted and if it had better instructions that included a bit of history of the aeroplane (as Airfix used to provide). Some spare transfers would be useful since they're easily lost or damaged.
