Good for what it does
This didn't work for what I wanted it to, which was to use with an Open Source Scan Converter and my PS2. The older HD-SCALER works great, but the new model seems to be maily geared towards upconverting 1080p to 4K. Unfortunately it is not very good with odd or off-spec video signals like it's predecessor. That said, if you want to upconvert 1080p for a 4K display it should do great, and you don't even need a remote as the buttons to change settings are built right onto the unit!

Great for basic use
My unit works great, I admit I haven't tried to make digital copies of my VHS content yet, but for viewing the stuff I find at the thrift shop (DVDs and VHS) by myself and with my wife it does what I need it to.
