Decent sharpener
Sharpens average pencils, "lead" and colored, well. Sometimes a bit touchy -- one has to insert the pencil just so with a little finagling. Then hold on tight or the pencil will spin....More powerful than similarly priced battery-operated sharpeners.

Decent but quirky!
Good compact size, generally easy to use once you master the quirks of this camera. Even when new (and I bought this one used as a gift), there are at least two issues -- it will often tell you batteries are exhausted, even if you've just replaced them. So you pop open the battery compartment and rotate the batts. Sometimes the shutter will stick and you'll see an odd shutter-stuck shape in view-finder. Turn off, turn on, repeat as needed. A useful zoom and there are adequate mega-pixels to give 11x14 photos.
