Truly original, and so much fun
2 of 2 found this helpful We've adored this production for many years, and are glad to finally have it on DVD. Kevin Kline really earned his Tony for his role as the Pirate King--he is quick, expressive, and hilarious. Linda Ronstadt is a sparkling Mabel and Tony Azito's one-of-a-kind elegantly awkward dancing as the police captain is a revelation. Fun for kids, despite the advanced vocabulary.

Devious
The seller told me that the DVD was likely region-free. I decided to trust that this was the case, but found it was not, so if I want to play the DVD, I will have to get a new DVD player. I suspect (though I don't know it for a fact) that the seller knew that the DVD was not region-free, but pretended not to know when asked so that more people would buy these off him.
