Good idea, bad packaging.
1 of 2 found this helpful This item is great for the price with the following exceptions:
1) If you do not enjoy the generic Ipod earphones, which have not been changed since the introduction of the ipod in the late 90s, then you may not want this product, as it forces you to use these as the track selection, volume and voice recognition is all selected through the controller on the earphones, which in itself can be hard to use.
2) Without the generic earphones with the controller, this item is absolutely useless. You will need to fork out more money for a third party controller by Belkin.
The idea was good, but rushing this product into production without a controller that can be used with third party earphones makes this ipod the worst in the range of products besides the ipad that still doesn't have a USB port.
