JL Audio 900/5 - The one and only Amp you'll ever need
2 of 3 found this helpful I'd consider myself an audiophile so this review will be written from that point of view. First let me say that I've paired this up with a Audio Control in dash EQ/Line driver. the JL 900/5 is an amazing amp, I've always been a JL fan (speakers and such) however this is my first amp and I'm extremely pleased. From the raw power of the amp, to the flexibility of the channel options. The front and rear channels (1-4) can be set to be high pass and a variable crossover makes it great for cars with smaller speakers in the front then rears. I've crossed over the rears a little lower than the fronts, allows for higher volumes without bottoming out the fronts. The sub has a low crossover (again variable) and phase switching options. The amp can also take 2/4/6 channel inputs (switchable). What is amazing is the amount of power this little amp pushes, the size of it is amazing, you can mount it any where. One of the best features, for me, is the balanced inputs. Paired with a line driver or EQ that has balanced outputs (and high voltage, 13v) the gains on the amp are all the way down for me and the system is incredibly powerful. Zero, and I mean zero noise (alt wine, etc). With the volume all the way down, there isn't a single wave of noise. Love it!
